A question can be described as a sentence which demands a response or an answer. Every day, you will inquire about questions. Some questions a open ended that require explanation, clarification and such, while other questions are closed , requiring only an answer of a yes or no. In some instances others ask questions that do not need to be answered but rather for someone to hear (rhetoric types of questions). Based on the form in the question response following must provide the information the questioner is trying to find. The majority of people fail in exams but not because they're dumb or uninterested, but because they don't grasp what is asked of them. A failure to present the problem correctly can lead to a wrong action or response. After your presentation, you need to feel comfortable if people question you. It could be an indication that people were engaged by what you were presenting and that your presentation sparked interest in other people. Your response to these questions will increase the view of your audience of you and increase their confidence in your company's product or services. As a professional, you'll have learn your art of asking pertinent questions , but more importantly, how to respond to questions efficiently.

Before you dive into answering your question, ensure it is clear in your mind about what the question is. There's no harm in having a clear understanding of what is being asked. Request politely "I apologize, I do not seem to be able to comprehend what you're asking Do you mind rephrasing?" You will communicate better in this situation than being unable to speak with awareness or wisdom. Remember that the point of answering questions is to provide a valuable contribution to the person searching for an answer. Do not waste time. Seek understanding first.

One method to increase your chances of responding to the question in a timely and objective manner is if you allow the person who asked the question enough time to finish asking. Certain people prefer to specify exactly what they are seeking. A response to a question that is not given until it is thoroughly asked can appear unprofessional. Don't assume you have a clear idea of where the questions are taking and therefore are trying to help find the answer. If you're not pressed for time give the person time to "ramble" while taking note of important details. Also, it gives you time to formulate and come up with one of the most suitable answers to the question.
