BOOK REVIEW101 JOB INTERVIEW QUESTION AND ANSWER BY OLUJIMI LAWALE from dayoadetiloye.com
A question is a statement that solicits for a response or answer. On a daily basis, you will have questions. Some questions are open ended necessitating explanations, explanations and many more. Other questions can be closed, and just require a Yes or a No. There are instances where people ask questions that do not need to be answered but rather an audience to listen to (rhetoric types of questions). It is based on the structure or question being asked, the answer will have to be able to explain what it is that the questioner is looking for. Many people fail in exams but not because they're dumb but simply because they don't comprehend the task being asked of them. The failure to convey the issue correctly leads to incorrect action or response. After an appearance, you'll feel comfortable if people inquire about your presentation. It could be a sign that the audience was engaged with the presentation and the program sparked interest in others. What you do to answer these questions will improve the perception of your audience of you and increase their confidence in your product or services. As a professional you will need to master your art of asking pertinent questions , but more importantly, how to effectively answer questions.

Before you decide to answer your question, ensure you're in a state of mind about what the question is about. It is not a bad idea to start by looking for clarity about the question being asked. Make a polite request "I apologize, but I'm unable to comprehend what you're asking I would appreciate if you could clarify?" You will communicate better in this situation than just ranting about with no knowledge or clarity. Be aware that the main purpose of answering questions is to provide a valuable contribution to the one who is trying to find an answer. Don't waste your time. Seek understanding first.

Another way to boost your chances of responding to your question in a sensible and objective manner is if you give the person asking you the question to finish asking. Some people may take their time to describe precisely what they are looking for. The answer to a query before it is answered fully could appear unprofessional. Don't presume you know exactly where the query is heading and thus you wish to help the person to understand the question. If you're time-bound take the time to let the person "ramble" while you make note of the key factors. Also, it gives you time to make sense of and consider which answer is best to the question. Being able to listen can give the highest success rate in answering questions.

You must determine if you're qualified to answer that question , or if someone else is. You are authorized speak about this topic (journalists can haunt you even though you're not supposed to be a company spokesperson)? How deep should the answer be? Pauses and moments of silence prove that you're just producing whatever material you have in your mind but a clearly planned answer is expected. It is possible to prepare the person who is waiting for an answer by saying "Let me think about it ..., Let me take a look." ..". This means that the person will stop waiting around, thinking they haven't heard and you're just ignoring etc. Thinking about the situation also allows you to formulate statements that you'll not be regretting in the future. You will be able to determine the best method of answering with wisdom without leaving the person with wounded or new wounds.
