A question is one asking for a answer or an answer. Every day, you may being asked questions. There are certain questions that are open ended needing explanation, explanation, and many more. Other questions can be closed, and just require the answer "Yes" or "No. In some instances others ask questions that do not need to be answered but rather for someone to consider (rhetoric issues). The format of the issue, your answer that follows must be in line with what the questioner is seeking. Most students fail in their exams simply because they're not smart, but because they fail to comprehend the task being asked to them. A failure to present the problem correctly results in an incorrect choice or response. After an event, you will feel comfortable if people question you. It could mean that people were involved in the presentation and the presentation sparked interest in other people. The way you respond to those questions can improve your audience's perception about you or improve their confidence in your products or services. As a professional you will need to master what it takes to be able to answer relevant questions and, most importantly, to effectively answer questions.

Before you take on the task of answering your question, ensure you have in your mind what the question is. There is no harm in looking for clarity about the question being asked. Request politely "I am sorry, I'm not able to be able to understand what you're asking and would you be willing to rephrase it?" It is easier to communicate in such situations than you can simply talk about the topic with little clarity or understanding. Keep in mind that the purpose of answering questions is for you to make a contribution to the one who is searching for an answer. Don't waste time. Seek understanding first.

One method to increase the likelihood of you answering an inquiry in a pertinent and objective manner is if you allow the person who asked questions time to complete asking. Some people may take their time to elaborate on what they want to know. A response to a question that is not given until it is clearly asked for can be unprofessional. Don't assume you know what direction the inquiry is heading, so you will need to assist in getting to the bottom of the matter. If you're having time leave the person "ramble" while you keep track of important things. It allows you to make sense of and consider how to best respond to the question. The ability of listening gives you a high percentage of success in answering questions.

You have to establish if you're qualified to answer the question , or if someone else is. Have you been authorized by the company to speak on that subject (journalists can make you look bad even if you're supposed to be to the company spokesperson)? How deep should the answer be? Moments of silence and pauses indicate that you aren't just making up whatever content you have in your mind, but a thought through answer is coming. You can actually prepare someone who is expecting an answer by saying "Let me think about it ..., let me think." ..". This way, the person will not sit and wait thinking there is nothing you've heard or you're just not listening, or ignoring. Also, thinking about it helps to think of statements that you'll be happy regarding later. You can figure out the best approach to address the issue with wisdom without leaving the person with the marks of a wound or fresh ones.
